Biography

A founding member of the Oldominion crew (alongside Grayskul, Onry Ozzborn & Boom Bap Project), Sleep was born and raised in Farmington, NM, and by age nine he was writing and performing his own rhymes. In the early ’90s Sleep made his way up to the Pacific Northwest, and his debut solo album, was released in 2002.

With untamed creativity and entertaining on-stage antics, Sleep sheds candid insight on all aspects of the everyday struggle; from empty pockets to personal triumphs, broken hearts to dreams fulfilled, proving that the truth can be as beautiful as it is brutal.

And just when you thought he was all doom and gloom, he teams up with Canadian rap wonder kid Josh Martinez to create The Chicharones, who, in case you haven’t heard, make the finest party anthems on this side of awesome. Combination Lock, is Sleep at his best.

Teaming up with fellow Northwestern reggae rapper/singer Zelly Rock, this record seamlessly fuses dancehall with underground hip-hop, pioneering a fresh new sound for a fresh new decade.

Versatile, multitalented and always on point with his rapid-fire rhymes, there is no doubt about it – Sleep is the real deal.
